
Payal Khandelwal is an independent journalist and editor based in Mumbai, writing primarily on art, design, and culture. She has worked full-time with Kyoorius, The Indian Express Group, Campaign India, and Blink Digital. As an independent journalist, her work has been published in Man’s World, PrintWeek India, Paper Planes, Architectural Digest India, Motherland, Mumbai Mirror, Open magazine, Eastside, IMPULSE magazine. She is a contributing writer for It’s Nice That for the past three years.
For six years, she published and edited The Floating Magazine – a digital publication devoted to doing in-depth conversations with contemporary visual artists and curators from around the world. The magazine is now an archive of over 100 interviews spanning across 20+ countries.
Alongside her editorial work, she’s done extensive content strategy and social media work for brands including ART India magazine, Art1st, JSW Prize for Contemporary Craftsmanship, MTB Exams India, and Phantom Hands, among others.
Payal studied English Literature from Hindu College, Delhi University and Advertising and Marketing from Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai.
